Hello I was wondering if someone could tell me a little about AMD Processors (or link me somewhere), I really don't know much about them I recently got my hands on a RX 470 4GB that my brother no longer needs and so I want to build my first AMD build. Previous times I have worked with intel processor and nvidia cards but never AMD. What are some good processor options for maybe a RX 470 and 8GB build also what does the power consumption look like?

Well it's a long road, and it's too hard to explain all of them Deneb, bulldozer, piledriver, steamroller, excavator and now ryzen.

Since you want an AMD build, go for ryzen 7 1700 with 65w tdp.

I wouldn't recommend Ryzen at the moment, give it a few months and let the Patch stream settle in, CPU's are back ordered at most places and only the expensive motherboards are in good supply. I would wait till afterJune and let the supply catch up as well as the performance patches and Bios patches get up and going, there are quite a lot of minor bugs and issues like not coming out of sleep that need to be fixed. Ryzen performance scales heavy with Ram speed at the moment most boards wont accept the higher speed RAM sticks.
Ryzen's more affordable chips launch mid April $169-$250 this is actually where I am aiming for since I will never utilize 16 threads.
