Hi,

I need help choosing an appropriate power supply - I really don't want to spend anymore money than I need to after buying the rig listed below! I will be doing heavy visual effects and 3D work - it will not be used for gaming.

6950X OC to about 3.8GHz
ASUS X99 WS-E-10G motherbord
32GB of DDR4 2133 RAM (with a further 32GB to be added in the next 3 months)
2 Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti - (with one more to be added within the next 6 months)
1 Quadro K2000
5 SATA 5.4K RPM 4TB HDDs
1 Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 250GB
1 Samsung 850 500GB (more to be added within the next 6 months)
1 Wacom Intuos Pro medium tablet connected via USB 2.0
Up to three USB 3.0 connected portable external HDDs
5-6 140mm PC case fans
Corsair Hydro H115i

software - with up to 3 being used the same time

Maya
3DS Max
VRay - both GPU AND CPU rendering
Marvelous designer
Photoshop
Nuke
Fusion 360 - Multi-core CAD program
Substance designer
Rhino
Zbrush
Chrome - multiple tabs open

Do you think a 1000 watt will be enough? What efficiency rating should I get? It's the last thing I need to get and it's been the hardest component to decide on.

Thanks for your help

Your PC, at peak, consumes about 850W.

Here, you can go either with 1KW PSU: FSP Aurum PT 1000FM (80+ Platinum),

Or 1.25KW PSU: Thermaltake ToughPower RGB TPG-1250D-T (80+ Titanium),

And here's reason why i suggest these two units,

I'd go for Thermaltake PSU, 2 reasons:
1. It gives your system more headroom by wattage vise.
2. It has the best efficiency there is thanks to being 80+ Titanium certified.
Bonus: It has RGB fan for eyecandy.
