Home Web Server System?

I just purchase a domain name, and while a professional hosting service seems enticing, I can't see the need for one at the moment. All I really want to do is run my own blog, and unless it turns into something big, it can deal with going down for a couple hours if the power gets knocked out.
The system would only be used for running the server, and it would most likely be used for a website (probably my personal blog).

Anyways, the real question is... How well would a web server perform on a system with these specifications:

Asus M5A97 R 2.0 Board
AMD FX-6300 @ 4.4Ghz (Overclocked, runs pretty cool with the CM Evo 212)
2x4GB Corsair XMS3 @ 1600Mhz (slight overclock from the stock 1333Mhz)
128GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD Drive
Radeon 7870 @ Stock speed (though I'm not 100% sure how much a GPU would affect the server)
Corsair CX600M PSU

Generally, running a web server from a home connection is not a great idea.
Far too easy to miss one of the many aspects of security, and getting your whole LAN hacked.

But if you must, that system would work. Any system would work for that level of use.

But look into one of the free or low cost hosting solutions first. Maybe even your ISP provides some free hosting space.
