Hi!

A few days ago, I got a used, but like new, Lenovo IdeaCentre B500 All-In-One computer running Windows 10. Everything seems to be working on it except for the WiFi, and I'm not sure what to do.

Alright, after I got the computer, I did a complete re-install of Windows 10. After that, the Wifi seemed to be working. I was able to connect to my internet using a wireless connection, and it worked for about five minutes, then it disconnected. Also, before it disconnected, I did update the wireless drivers because I always start with those when getting a PC. Anyway, now it gives me that little Ethernet cable symbol with the red "X" on it. I also wasn't able to see any wireless connections when I clicked on the symbol.
Then, after it disconnected, I tried connecting it to the router via Ethernet cable, and it still didn't pick up my WiFi. And I know it's not my router or cable that are causing the issue, because my other computers and phone are able to connect to the WiFi, obviously, otherwise I wouldn't be posting this, and I tested the Ethernet cable on one of my other computers, and it worked. I even turned off the firewall completely after this, which also didn't work.
Finally, in my adapter settings, it only gives me the Ethernet option with the "X." I'll try to provide a couple of screenshots to help.

Thanks!

P.S. The PC used to run Windows 7, but I got it after it had been updated, and the WiFi worked when I first turned it on. It was only after the fresh installation of Windows 10 that it stopped.

With respect to getting a wireless network connection established:

Be sure that you have enabled the wireless adapter and disabled the wired (ethernet) adapter.

Only one or the other should be enabled.

Run the built-in network troubleshooter - see if the troubleshooter can find and fix something.

Take another look at the wireless adapter's configuration. Make sure that all is configured to match your network settings.

Double check the make and model of your wireless adapter and download new drivers via the manufacturer's website.

Reinstall carefully per the installation guide.

****Hey all, seems the Lenovo not liking WEP security holds some water.****

I just got a new Lenovo laptop ideapad, and after trying dozens of solutions (almost anything you can think of, .,.I simply followed your advice and changed my home routers security to WPA2. All my other devices had to reconnect again,

BUT....This is the ****only**** solution that immediately fixed my problem. I had already tried almost every other method under the sun before this one fixed my problem 100% and in under 2 minutes. Hope this post helps other Lenovo, or unlucky, users to fix a seemingly unsurmountable problem...

Cheers, -Sean
