Pentium g4560 with RX 470 vs i5-6400 with GTX 1050

Solution

The lack of 4 physical cores will certainly make a difference, but the 3.5Ghz (G4560) can still hold on nicely. You'd suffer more if it was video editing.

As stated above the 6400 is overall a better choice for editing, but it will definitely suffer more on games while the build i suggested won't.
It's up to you to decide which is more important atm.

Which games are you willing to play?
The G4560 can hold up to almost any non CPU-Heavy @1080p without problems, it has also better upgradeability 'cause it's Kaby Lake, including that the RX 470 is much much better than the 1050.

If i may, i'd recommend this build instead:

For just a couple more ( and still less the the 6400 build ), you can still get a even better rig.

So, my vote go for Nº 2 build, no doubt.
