Computer locking up after several hours of use

Hello Tom's community! I'm back again with the same issue. Every few months or so my computer will start to bog down and eventually lock up after it has been running for several hours. Usually around 8 or so. The fixes to this have always been restart or system refresh. A system restart fixes it for about 8 hours and a system refresh fixes it for about 2 months.

I run a ssd for my operating system, as well as an internal 1 tb hdd and a USB 1tb hdd.

My only known issues with the computer is a dead cmos battery as well as a possible faulty ram holster. Every so often my computer will stop booting until I swap my ram chips into the opposite ram chip's slot. I haven't figured out if it's the slot or a chip going.

The only sign I've had to give me any direction to solving this problem is massive spikes in my pagefile and swapfile that line up with the stuttering and lagging of my computer. Usually this will be the swapfile and pagefiles that are on my secondary hdds.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a fix for this? I tried last year and didn't get any solutions.

Most Likley A Bad Hard Drive, or your computer could be overheating after 4-5 Hours of use. depends what you do. Go into your boot settings and do a HDD (Hard Disk Drive) Check, and if it detects more than two things. your HDD is failing (Like Mine). IF that does nothing check the battery on the board, replace it. if that doesn't work check your RAM. maybe one of your RAM sticks are failing or have failed.
I would run a checkdisk
CHKDSK D: /R
(Assuming D is your HDD)

Also, How much RAM does your computer have.
I believe your experiencing a RAM related issue which could indeed cause a large pagefile.

Run some memory tests for more than 8 hrs, typically you should leave a RAM test running for at least 24hrs.
If you CMOS battery is dead you should replace it. It could be loosing your RAM configuration and defaulting to a lower/slower setting.

If you can.. test your DIMMs on a different motherboard. (You may have to test them 1 at a time.)
If they test fine on a different motherboard then I would test the RAM slots on your motherboard by running the same memory tests.

My ram is at 8 gb. I did a check disk before and that came up fine but I can run one again tonight and get back to you on that

I ran the built in windows memory diagnostic tool overnight... I didn't have access to a flash drive to do memtest86. It didn't make any progress at all. It just hung at 0% for 9 hours.
