Hi. I did a prime95 Blend test and the CPU got very hot. I had RealTemp running so that I could follow the temperature while testing. Where it says "thermal status" in RealTemp it said "LOG" written in red on two of the cores. I immediately shut down the test. Could this have damaged my CPU?

I also did a sensor movement test right after, which I don't know how to read. Does everything look ok here?

Hi babbaf :)

Temperatures are within acceptable limits and OK in Realtemp at idle.

Your problem is Prime95 which is an aggressive tester and will test your CPU to the MAX. There are better testers that will also test your subsystems. It is very unlikely that damage to the CPU has occurred as it is consistent high temperatures close to thermal throttling where it can diminish the CPU.

Try AIDA64 or Realbench for a more realworld stress test. As with any stress tester, Constantly monitor your system and DON'T leave it unattended.

Thanks a lot. I feel like I can relax now :). I did the Realbench stress test and it passed. However, max temperature reached 74. Is that something I need to worry about? Would it be safe to overclock? Or should I get a better cooler first?

Well 74C is a little high and should be around 60-65C under load. Check also in Bios your idle temps which should be 10-15C above ambient room temperature.
As you have no OC then it is a worry as each frequency increase needs more core voltage and each Core voltage increase has an exponential increase in temperature.
What cooler are you using and what is your target OC.? I need to know this to determine best Bios parameters if you want me to help you.
It would be best to list your full system specs and also what Bios revision are you on.?
