Faster is better. But your motherboard and CPU determine the fastest RAM they support. You can install faster RAM than the motherboard/CPU supports but they will just slow it down to the maximum speed they can handle so you're wasting money on faster RAM than what they support. Your motherboard specifications will state the maximum RAM speed and size supported.
