I received a new case and some extra RAM today and transferred my build from the old case to the new adding the RAM along the way, now when I switch the computer on I get a brief moment of power and then the power goes off.

The build was working perfectly this morning in the old case, it was only after the transfer that it stopped working. When transferring I fully dismantled the build piece by piece only leaving the original RAM in the motherboard, then rebuilt it from scratch, changing over to the provided screws etc.. provided by the new case. The ambient lighting on the motherboard works but as soon as the power button is pressed there is a brief moment when the CPU cooler starts up,the Graphics card light comes on, the motherboard has additional lights turn on and then the power stops (the ambient lights stay on), if I try again without turning off the PSU and fully discharging, then nothing happens at all, the case fans do not turn on.

Specs are:
i7 - 6700k
ASUS Maximus VIII Formula
16GB (now 32GB) Corsair Dominator DDR4 3000mhz 15-17-17-35
Noctua DH15S
MSI Gaming X 1080
Seasonic 1000W Platinum PSU (OTT but I got it a couple of years ago with the intention of multi GPUing)
1 - OCZ Vertex 128GB SSD
1 - Samsung Evo 950 500GB SSD
2 - Seagate Barracuda 3TB HDD
Windows 10
Old Case - Corsair 780T
New Case - Phanteks Evolve Primo
All other devices are currently unplugged

I've checked/done:
1- All the connectors between the PSU and the motherboard (and the other devices) and all the connections between the Motherboard and the devices.
2 - The standoffs for the motherboard were preinstalled and screws are holding it in place
3 - The Graphics card and RAM are properly seated
4 - The new RAM modules have been removed (putting it back to its original spec) and the same occurred
5 - I've removed all the RAM modules and still have the same problem
6 - The CPU fan is installed correctly and new thermal paste applied but only as much as had been done previously
7 - Anti Static Wristband was worn at all times with discharging on grounded metal pipe done at regular intervals
8 - The front panel plugs are installed correctly according to the motherboards manual(and to make sure i tried them reversed them, strangely the same problem happens both ways around)

Any help with diagnosing the problem would be appreciated

Solution
Recheck the power connections, it's easily done to confuse a 8 pin PCI-E lead for a 8 pin motherboard connector.
Unplug everything that isn't needed to boot: Case front panel connectors, USB connectors, non boot drives, etc and retry.

Just checked all the power cables and it turns out one of the SATA power cables had got busted and was causing the short, I've replaced with a pair of others I had lying around, relieved that there's no dismantling required, thanks for the help from both of you :)
