I was thinking about using DDR3-2400 RAM with my new Gigabyte F2A88X-DH3 motherboard. ( Already purchased it through Amazon last year. Was also planning on getting AMD's A10-7890K to go with it but didn't have enough funds then.) According to the manual the max speed it can support (without overclocking) is DDR3-2133 (PC3-17064). Still not sure I want to try overclocking on this one but I got the higher memory in case I wanted to try. My question is if I got the DDR3-2400 and used it with this MOBO, I'd just have to OC the 7890 and leave the timing on the memory alone, or would it be better to get DDR3-2133 Ram and OC both (if I decided to do an overclock)?

Hello There. I would say its better to get DDR3-2133 Ram and OC both cpu, and ram. This provides a higher value in your motherboard by overclocking 2 units. Also there is no point in getting a K series cpu if you don't over clock :p. If you are going for gaming and productivity then get 2133 ram 16gb. If just productivity, get 8gb ram, If just gaming, you can choose between 8gb or 16gb of ram.:bounce:
