Hello everyone, I am new, so I will try to give a lot of details. After I open a game, I can play for a while with no problems, but then, the game freezes along with the computer. The computer after some seconds reacts allowing me to change tabs, and after some seconds, the games works again, but if i play again, it will freeze more badly than before. I checked the GPU and CPU Temp, both are normal (30c Idle) and when the game is running, the CPU temp goes max 40°c, the GPU temp goes to 50-55°c, thats when the game starts going bad. At first i thought it was the RAM, i did some tests with Windows Memory Diagnostic, but no errors were found. I did test my HD too, (/SFC and I used other program too, i can't remember its name now), and no problems too. I will answer your questions in case i forgot something.

SPECS:
GC: Sapphire HD 7950 Dual Boost 3Gb
Processor: AMD Vishera FX 8320 Eight-core Processor
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
RAM: 8GB 1600 MHz
Corsair GS 600
HD: 1 TB 7200rpm
Windows 7 Ultimate
(Sorry if i made any english mistakes, i'm not a native speaker)

that black stripes could be artifacting.are u running on stock clock?usually a artifacting is a sign of a bad gpu or unstable clock(if u oc).60c is not hot enough to consider overheating.try down clocking the card to see if u still have freezing issue.

Yes, its using 70 - 80% gpu/cpu. I did make an stress test on the gpu, but in the middle of the test, it crashes or gives me BSOD. Maybe its the gpu, but I want to be sure that's it. Is there a way to test my motherboard? Because if i buy a new gpu, and its not the problem, I will trow money away. And thanks for the reply.

Update: Was playing GTA V, the game works on the menus, but soon as i start the game, it freezes. The thing is, only the game freezes, i can still alt+tab and keep using the computer. It seems it only reacts when i play any game. Tried to low the specs, but the result still the same. Is there a chance it can be my cpu? Can anyone recommend a program to test it?

usually this indicates a bad gpu.might want to pull out the gpu and test it on another system to make sure.or if u have another gpu u can borrow maybe?

So, I did a test on the gpu. I seems it starts freezing the computer when it reaches 60°c, with 86% load. Maybe cleaning could make it work? If so, where i can find a guide to clean a 7950 dual boost?

Update: I opened the gpu, it was really hard (no tutorials on the internet on how to open my gpu), i changed the thermal paste, but it still is getting temperature over 60° when playing GTA V. I opened the case, and it still is really hot.

Update: Was playing Dark Souls, and suddenly got black stripes all over the screen. I was forced to manually reboot the computer, it seems that after some time the gpu overheats, even with the new thermal paste. I will try to send it to a professional to clean it up, maybe I didn't clean enough?
