Computer Boots but there is no video. red light on motherboard

i built this computer a few years ago and i never had any issues until a few weeks ago when i shut down my computer and when i booted it back up there was nothing. i was eventually able to get it going again and its been going strong for a couple weeks until today when i accidentally reset it. ive tried narrowing it down to see if it was one of the sticks of ram. i unplugged everything none essential (extra fans) and nothing seems to work.

CPU: i7-4770K Processor
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 0 FTW Edition
RAM: 16gb DDR4 ram

i dont have case speakers attached. i unplugged one of my sticks of ram and cleared the CMOS and that seemed to do it. so im just not going to turn my computer off until i can afford to upgrade it to 7th gen
