These speakers aren't new and they are external its the logitech 506z. They are making a high pitch humming sound to which at first i thought was a wasp. The humming centralises to the middle as that is where most of the sound is coming from but still comes from all of them. I suspected it was a ground issue but i isolated speakers into a different plug system but then isolated them from the PC as well and still a buzzing noise from my speakers. So i moved across the room where there are no cables and still a buzzing noise.

I'm assuming they are done, I've had them since 2010 and i think its the sub-woofer system that controls allows the input is broken or causing it but i'm uncertain.

Sounds like you're on the right track to figuring it out.
Grounding was my first thought, and you may not have totally eliminated that, but certainly less likely.
Try the speakers with another source (ideally using all the same connections) and try different speakers/headset (ideally using all the same connections).
...Process of elimination..

Not sure what you mean by different plug system. Was this on the same/different circuit. Have you tried putting a 3 prong female to 2 prong male(Ground Plug)adapter on your computer AC cord. I have a music studio, and do live sound for concerts. I've seen some of the toughest ground issues that are a pain in the ass to figure out.

I wouldn't rule out the ground just yet, unless you've tried a different building, 3 prong plug, different circuit, no ac, no fan, drier, blow drier, etc. Anything with a 60 hz cycle. 3 prong plug is usually a quick fix.

Googled you system, nice!!!

Hope this helps,

the plug system i meant going to other side of the room and trying it over there into a different plug socket. The plug system only allows a 2 pin female plug cable. as well i tried 3 different power cables to make sure it wasn't the plug. I am thinking of buying a new speaker system but i guess the next step could be to try it in a different room like the kitchen.

The two pin power cable is what im reffereing to
