g4560 + RX 480 8GB or i5-7500 + RX 470 4GB

My budget is very limited right now, so i can either get an g4560 + RX 480 8GB or an i5-7500 + RX 470 4GB

PC is mainly for 1080p gaming use

what do you guys think i should get?

Well ryzen 5 performance is unknown, just wait and see what it will have to offer. intels non k i5 will have pretty similar performance to ryzen 5. AMD throw so hard past 8-10 years so im a bit sceptical to it, but time will show what is real performance of ryzen cpu once they get fully or as close to full optimized. Recent updates of ryzen showed improved performance on ryzen 7. You should wait anyway because soon (by the end of this month) rx 500 (aka vega) series will come out. So my suggestion wait until Mai and then decide what to get.
Ofc u need a bit more than 4gb for mods on fallout or skyrim, but even 4gb wont be a big issue. U not gonna play only these 2 games all the year are u?

If u not to take price in consideration then i would go with i5-7500 + 470 for sure! But g4560 is so much cheaper so based on performance per $ g4560 - rx 480 is a winner ( not wroth going for 8gb with g4560, get 4gb to save up some money...)

Also what games or game genre u play most often? For example FPS games like CSGO, ARMA 3, owerwatch (specially multiplayer) etc are CPU demanding, so u will get greater performance boost with i5 cpu.
Personally i would go with 7500+480, just because 480 is only 30$ more expensive than 470 (if u live in US)

Yeah i know that getting the 8gb rx 480 is too much for the g4560, but since im planning to upgrade the cpu to an i5 in the future i thought i might as well just get the 8gb one now

Or is 8gb vram too much since im not going anywhere above 1080p ?

As for games im going to play modded skyrim and modded fallout 4 which i think both require more than 4gb of vram

The i5 is a great CPU that'll last you quite a few years.
With the rise of Ryzen, you're going to see more and more Core/Thread usage in games from now on so the G4560 will eventually struggle a great deal on more demanding CPU orientated games, GPU orientated games will eventually struggle but not for a while.
Since you're going into 1080p gaming I would say 4GB VRAM is OK, in the long run you might need 8GB for 1080p.
The RX470 and RX480 are very similar in performance so I wouldn't be concerned for a while even with the VRAM difference.

I would suggest you get the i5+RX470. It is great for ARMA, BF and SimCity, a.k.a. CPU orientated games, the GPU will make almost no difference.
In a couple of years the i5 will pay off big time compared to the G4560 and i3 and by that time you can upgrade the GPU.

Kinda hard to tell. Early gaming benchmarks show the R5-1400 to be better than the G4560 but slightly weaker than an i5-7400 (running at stock speeds) in BF1, overclocked it's almost the same as that i5.

I would say the R5 in the future but the i5-7500 will still be a great CPU for the following years. It's up to you.

Between the R5 and the i5 Kaby Lake I would go with the R5-1600X but not now, next year when all the bugs have been sorted out and the CPU's aren't build in a hurry, then again, I'm a GNU+Linux guy so AMD has always been more giving to our community.
