speedfan reading my mobo's temp as 99c when playing csgo

Core is the CPU, not the motherboard. Check your CPU cooler (is the fan working?) and reinstall it with new thermal paste (grain of rice size) if need be. If it's a stock Intel cooler, check if all pins are fully inserted; otherwise it doesn't make good contact and the CPU overheats and it eventually shuts down.
