What tools do I need to build a desktop?

This is my build I ordered recently and was wondering what tools do I need? It seems like all I need is a screwdriver pretty much but I wanted to make sure. Also it would be great if someone can link a cheap screwdriver that will do the trick. Also do all the cables I need come with it? I already have a monitor with hdmi's and a mouse keyboard so I was wondering if I need to buy any extra cables for the desktop itself (not peripherals)

Solution

No.
1. That 'Product key' you see is not the license key. 2 different things.

2. A preinstalled Win 10 is unfortunately tied to the original motherboard. That is, I believe, the only condition where a Win 10 license can't be moved to new hardware.

Solution?
Sell the laptop (with its OS) to fund a new OS and desktop parts.
yes any screwdriver with a reasonably fine crosspoint head will do fine

about the only other tool i keep handy just in case is a small pair of mole grips/locking pliers/locking wrench

just in case of motherboard stand off problems

have had a couple in the past where the screw cross threaded but couldnt take it out to restart as the stand off was turning with the screw

not that common to happen but still possible

PSU screwed into the case, plugged into the wall...touching the case every once in a while is exactly the same as having a wrist strap.
You're just equalizing the electrical potential between you and the components.

Now...some people may scream that a wrist strap is ALWAYS required, and without one that means you WILL kill many components.

I'll not get into that fight here...

ESD (Static) risk depends on many variables: RH (Relative Humidity) being one of the most important. Floor material (carpet versus tile), work surface where pc is, what kind of clothes you are wearing, what kind of chair you are sitting on, exactly HOW you handle the components:handle the mb ONLY by the edges, which is always the Ground plane (which is almost impossible to cause damage to), and do NOT touch the back or the front without a wrist strap on, or with one hand touching the grounded case AT EXACTLY THE SAME TIME

People who say "just touch the case once in a while" don't know what they are talking about
BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW THE CONDITIONS YOU ARE WORKING IN!

If you are in a high static generating environment, you CAN generate enough charge to kill a mb in less than a second. Too many people seem to have zero idea that this can happen under the 'right' circumstances

Sorry USAFRet, but you need to STOP handing out bad advice all the time. I admit that 'most' of the time, just touching the case every few seconds will be OK, BUT NOT ALWAYS. Stop giving people advice that is only good "most" of the time

Oh so the wrist strap isn't for safety it's for preventing damage on the parts? I was so confused lol. But I also have another question which might bad because it's the wrong forum section but I will probably watch the newegg series on how to build one and build it. After everything is hooked up I assume everything should recognize each other like all the parts should work. How do I install windows? I plan to buy it from kingpin for $30 and make a bootable flash drive. Would I just put the USB in it and it'll just start working and installing windows? And also I don't have a disc drive so I assume after the windows install from USB I'd have to get all the drivers online. I have an Ethernet cable because I didn't purchase the wifi adapter yet. Would the Ethernet also just work? I honestly have no idea what already works and what you have to make work

after everything is put together

first thing you do is go in the bios and watch the cpu temperature

watch it until it stops rising to be sure you did the cooler right--different cpus will vary and depends what cooler you have as well

but if it goes over say 50c in the bios its not right

buying cheap windows keys is always risky the key may work to begin with then get blacklisted later

pretty common as well for people to buy windows keys with stolen credit cards

you put the flash drive in usb port--usb 2.0 preferably

it will either start loading when you turn on the pc or you may have to tell it to boot off the usb in the bios or boot menu

no the ethernet may not always work

you should always get hold of the ethernet driver beforehand and put it on flash drive etc

the top version appears to be only a license, no dvd.
It is possible to create a dvd with an ISO file to install Win10 , at least it used to be. Can't say for sure it is still possible, but obviously, you need a working computer to do so

Windows costs what it costs. Generally around $90 US.
Find it much cheaper, and it is likely not valid. We could link any number of threads in here where people bought a cheap key, that was invalid from the start, or became unactivated soon after.
