I know, stupid question. Does GPUZ show my real PCIe version? Beause from what I see my motherboard supports it at 16x.
Graphics card is an ASUS R7 250 1GB
Motherboard is an ECS NFORCE9M-A

Solution
I run 2x 780ti's on x8 x8 which is a considerably faster then the r7 250, and Im right in line if not better with my overclock than 2x 780ti's at x16 x16.

Even the 1080ti wouldn't lose hardly any performance at x8 3.0.

Remember PCI-E x8 at 3.0 is like running in x16 at 2.0.

X4 speeds is where you will see performance drops, usually x4 lanes are ran off of the PCH or Chipsets as well and and can make things even slower.
