Hi guys, I have this strange problem with my 2 PC's.

PC1:

-Intel Core i5 4590
-Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33
-RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
-GPU: Palit GTX 1050 Ti StormX 4GB GDDR5 128Bit
-PSU 550W
-SSD & HDD.

PC2:

-Intel Core i5 6400 Skylake
-Motherboard: Medion H110H4-CM2 (U3E1)
-RAM: 8GB DDR3 (2x4) 1600Mhz
-GPU: GTX 970 4GB GDDR5 256Bit
-PSU 450W
-SSD & HDD

-First of all I must say that both PC's are working perfectly without any problems when nothing is changed.

-Problem occurs only when i switch GPUs on that 2 PCs.

-First i switched GTX 970 from PC 2 to PC 1, and it was impossible to play games. PC was working perfectly when watching videos on youtube, browsing internet and even playing Facebook games. But when i wanted to play more serious games it was impossible. I tested this with 3 different games and got following errors:

Game 1: PC Freeze and i must do hard restart.

Game 2: Same as GAME 1.

Game 3: (GTA V) - I get this error message: ''ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT - Failed initialization please reboot and re install game''

That's errors on PC 1 with GPU from PC 2.

While PC 2 won't even boot with GTX 1050 Ti. I don't know why it just wont.

I couldn't do much with PC 2 because it won't boot with GTX 1050 Ti, but with PC 1 i tryed removing and reinstalling graphic drivers and that didn't work either.

As soon as i switched GPUs back, both PCs are working perfectly and all games are running with no problems.

So bottom line is that none of these 2 PCs won't work when GPUs are switched, why?

I'm so confused, where is the problem does anyone know?

It took me 1 hour to write this because I can't tell how much I'm confused right now lol.

Yes I did, downloaded latest driver from GeForce Experience.

EDIT: But what's confusing me it's that both graphic cards are working perfectly when they are in configurations listed up.

Well if u say that graphic cards working perfectly, but once u swap them you experience issues. It must be something about drivers... Also sometimes games get chained to gpu that was installed with. Try to uninstall gpu drivers before you install a new one. I would also try to reinstall the game just to make sure.
What is game 1 and game 2?
If u get this issue again, after reboot go to event viewer>windows logs>system any errors there? There is time stamps, just look that moment when it happened.
What model PSU in your second PC with 450W?
Cant think anything else for now, maybe more users will reply.

-Game 1 is Shattered Skies, and game 2 is random game named Rising World which i downloaded from steam just to check if i will have the same problem. I downloaded that game after switching GPUs and after i re-installed drivers.

-Only errors i can find related to the ''Display'' are only 2 which says ''WARNING: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.''

-PSU model is FSP450-60APN

PSU Description:

This specification describes a 450 watts power supply. With +5V stand-by, second 12V rail and remote ON/OFF control for ATX-12V system and a “Power factor collector (PFC)” circuit to meet EPA requirement of input range with in 230V/50Hz.

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered is your gpu related, something totally wrong with drivers/clock speeds, they somehow fight with each other. Also before u put new gpu in second pc, did u do any overclocking? Do you have any overclocking programs on your computer? which?
If so, open it and put settings to default. Its possible that if u had your first gpu overclocked, your new gpu obtains some incorrect settings.
download http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/ , run it and use any monitoring software that u currently have and check your clock speed and temperature.

No, all components are at stock speed and nothing is overclocked or ever been. And I don't have any programs for overclocking on my PCs.

Do you think setting up new OS will for sure help this problem?

EDIT: And what about PC2 which won't even boot with GPU from PC1? What's that about?

Yes it will definitely fix it, but there is another easier way, thing is its not like i can do it personally and its pretty hard to assist with it in distance :D
Sadly i never experienced your issue myself or i would exactly new what to do step by step. Reinstalling windows will take way too much time and then reinstalling all drivers and files back on.
But for now download msi afterburner https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner and that furmark, we will test your gpu. Once you download it run stresstest with furmark and monitor your settings with msi afterburner monitor. Also make sure in MSI afterburner u press on default. This should put all settings to default state.

Wait but i thought its your second pc we talking about, so which one we try to fix now? So which one PC and GPU we fixin now?

I already have MSI Afterburner (On PC1), because of RivaTuner. (To track FPS in games)

All this time we were speaking of PC1 with GPU of PC2. So i5 4590 with GTX 970.

Other one is i5 6400 with GTX 1050 Ti (GPU from PC1). - That one won't even boot with that card. And as we speak now, both PC are working perfectly with no problems. (i5 6400 + GTX 970) and (i5 4590 + GTX 1050 Ti)

So again just to say, because it's confusing as hell.

- i5 4590 PC1 is working with GTX 970 only games are impossible to play.

-i5 6400 PC2 is working perfect with GTX 970, but won't even boot with GTX 1050 Ti.

lol
