How much should I usually spend on a graphics card the $1,000 range? Like the percentage of the total budget? I am planning to do YouTube on the thing so would like overclocked processor and Nvidia Shadowplay.

Solution
it varies

if you want reasonable gaming

roughly 30% of a 1000 budget would be my suggestion

though could go down to say 20%

all depends what resolution you will game, what level of settings you are happy with etc

Is my recommendation. Not sure if you need an OS or an optical drive or if you already have 10 which can be transferred. If you have that the 7700K would be an ideal choice.

That seems good, is the EVGA GTX 1060 SSC good? It's about 25% of my budget.

if gaming at 1080p yes its great assuming its the 6gb version gtx1060

higher than that will still be ok though will need to lower settings a bit

I think that would be a great choice for a GPU with your budget.

Alright, thanks! And thanks to Zothik too!

I'm currently running an EVGA GTX 970 SSC and it runs great!
Of all the brands I've had throughout the years EVGA has been solid. No complaints. 2nd EVGA card I've owned and still 0 issues.
