I have a serious mystery. So my windows (10) started to bsod randomly with either a ram problem or a driver problem but never saying what exactly crashed. I didn't know what caused the problem so I checked my ram with the windows program, no errors. After 2 hours of nothing being wrong I used memtest86, aaand it failed at Bit fade test. My first thought was a bad memory stick but because I have a big cooler I can't access the ram without removing it first (noctuna nh d15) I needed google. So after so googling I found someone with the same problem with the same ram: http://www.passmark.com/forum/memtest86/5722-test-10-sleeping-when-i-test-individual-sticks-of-ram I have the 6800k and msi x99a raider (bios up to date). The solution worked, just lowered my ram frequency
But because I'm a curios person, I set the same exact settings for the cpu and ram back. Aaand this time no errors. After a day of use no bsod either. Then I oc even more with the same voltage (original 2666 mhz, down: 2166 mhz, up: 2933 mhz) and the test finished yet again with no errors.
So.... What was the problem?
