Upgrading from intel gma 3100

Guys I need help.I am going to upgrade my graphics card.I want some light gaming because i cant play any games right now.My friend gave Nvidia GT9800 video card and I dont know anything about compatibility.Can I put this video card in my pc.

First and foremost we have no information on the OPs Power Supply to even remotely assume he could put it in the PC. A 9800 requires at least a 400w PSU. At best a weak PSU will not boot the card, at worst it will fry it and possibly the rest of his computer.

Secondly the specs says a Celeron E1400 from 2008! This CPU could not handle a high end GPU in 2008, let alone anything newer.

@OP unforutnatly your coumputer was low end for 2008 standards and thus very very low end today.
Even upgrading CPU to Core2Duo or Core2Quad plus that GPU will require you to turn all settings down to low to have usale framerates. With your current CPU you wont be...

It's a PCIe card, and your motherboard uses PCIe, so no problem. Install it.

This GPU was GIVEN to him, so I don't think he cares about bottleneck...
 


Get that, hence why I did not tell the OP to not even bother, just setting realistic expectations.
Just wanted OP to know that the GT9800 alone was not going to allow him/her to play any modern titles.
