My 7850 2gb went dead on my three and half year old budget build. I'd like to squeeze a year or two more out of this build before embarking on a full rebuild if possible. 1080p gaming.

Part list below.

I'm trying to decide whether to 1. Buy something like a 480, accept the fact it will be bottlenecked and reuse it when it comes time for the new build. 2. Find a cheapish card (maybe a GPUshack refurb) to fill in the one to two year span. or 3, convert it into an internet machine for the family and just dive into a new build. I'm not really sure I want to bother with overclocking, especially since I'm not sure what killed the 7850 in the first place.

Any help would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.

You are using a basic build power supply, that is not really a good model for a gaming system. I would get this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151093

About the card, you have to toss a coin, get a better one now that will be slower than cheaper cards that will be out in a few years, or spend less on a card now but get slower speeds and quality and pay double to upgrade it later.

If it was my money, I'd upgrade the PSU and get something like a tested used nVidia 750Ti for $40 or 50 on craigslist or a new RX 460 and just play on medium settings, then sell the whole system when you upgrade, instead of paying $150-250 for a new modern card that will be slower than cheaper cards when you upgrade.
