Hey everyone,
First and foremost i am a newbie at pc builds and components and i just received my first ever gaming pc pre built (yes i should've built it myself but ill learn as i go). Everything seems to be running fine except a scary 100°C CPU temperature even though it may be at like 20% usage/load and i don't know why? It's not overclocked and I've a very good case and good cooling fans so this doesn't make sense to me. One other thing ill say is there is an orange light on my motherboard i can't distinguish if its by design or some sort of warning. It may be a signal to this problem or may not I'm not sure.

Here's a full list of my hardware:
Case: Sama Ark Gaming Case With Side Window and 5x RGB Fans + 5 12cm cooling fans

Motherboard - Gigabyte H110M-DS2
Motherboard Expansion - 1x PCI Express x16, 2x PCI Express x1

CPU Type - Intel i7 7th Generation Kaby Lake
CPU Model - Intel Core I7 7700 3.6ghz 8mb Cache 7th Gen Kaby Lake
CPU Socket - Intel 1151
CPU Speed - 3.6 Ghz
CPU Max Turbo Clock Speed - 4.2 Ghz
CPU Cooler - Standard Intel Cooler

Memory - 16gb DDR4 2133mhz Performance Ram
Hard Drive Size - 2tb Sata 64mb Cache 7200rpm
Optical Drive -Samsung 24x Sata DVD Writer
Graphics Card - Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6gb VR Ready
PSU Size - EVGA 600w Quiet 80 Plus Bronze Certified Semi Modular Power Supply

Somebody please help I'm really nervous about potentially damaging my new cpu :(

You should be able to disable Intel Turbo Boost in your motherboard's BIOS until...

WTF did I just read... My eyes... It hurts...

Intel recently decided to stop giving stock coolers on K processors and high end processors. Even intel realised their cooler sucks. Get a new cooler.

How would i know thats the case? It seems to be running overtime actually spinning fast. Would that be if it was mounted incorrectly?

Mounted correctly or not, an intel stock cooler must not be paired with an overclockable high end i7 processor. Get a new cooler.

okay I'm definitely gonna get a new cooler but do you think I've damaged my cpu? I played some skyrim special edition on it far. Also even with the stupid stock cooler it shouldn't reach 100c thats not normal at all? At idle it like 40-50 degrees celsius thats crazy

No, don't worry. Modern CPUs can "Thermal throttle", they slow themselves to stay under 100 degrees, and if the temp goes higher than 110 or 120 degrees, the motherboard shuts down your pc (thermal event)

but even a cheapie stock cooler shouldn't see 100C!!

You should be able to disable Intel Turbo Boost in your motherboard's BIOS until you get a better cooler. It should help with temps. The i7-7700 has a 4.2GHz turbo boost. That's pretty high frequency for a stock intel cooler with hyper-threading on an i7. (You could also disable hyper-threading to lower temps if you need to.)

Even I have the same processor i7 7700 (non k ). I use cooler master master liquid lite 120 for my cpu. on playing witcher 3 on ultra i get temps upto 82. I heard the cpu will go upto 90c.
