Which CPU is better for gaming? Core 2 Quad Q8400 (2.66ghz 4 core) or Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16ghz 2 core, 2 more Mb of l2 cache)

Yes and no others. This is for a challenge with my friend for a 100$ pc and I managed to get both. I just need to know which is better

i would keep the four coresm odel, but they are not far from each other, in terms of games, specifically
in other tests, i think the 4 cores should do better
