Hello,

I'm running out of room on both my SSD's and need more storage space. I play some games, but I'm mostly getting into 4K video editing thanks to my new Phantom 4 Pro I just got. I store all 4K videos on an external 2tb drive.

I need faster processing power for 4K video editing and more storage space. Will I get a lot better performance by upgrading my motherboard and chip along with a new NVMe SSD? My current ASUS motherboard can't accept NVMe m.2 SSD's.

I have the following build:

ASUS P8Z77-V PRO
Intel 3770K
16GB DDR3
120GB OCZ Vertex-3 SSD
128GB Crucial m4 SSD
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

How much more performance will I get by upgrading both motherboard and chip? Sorry if it's an obvious answer, I've been away from PC technology for a while...

More ram and a better cpu with higher clocks and more cores is a big help with video editing especially 4k rendering. I have a friend who renders 4k and he said that needs 64gb of ram to have great render times. Also improving the motherboard really wont help a lot
