Hey everyone, like the title said. Can I use dual molex to 8-pin connector to power my graphics card. The PSU I have is the Antec VP450w and I want to power the EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SSC which requires an 8-pin. The graphics card I have right now is the EVGA GTX 1060 3gb version. If my PSU can run the 3 gb version then it should be able to run the 6gb version without a problem right? Thanks for reading.

CPU: i7 2600
PSU: Antec VP450

Solution
I have the same PSU except with a "P" (VP450P)
The two +12 V rails are distributed in your PSU :
+12V1: All cables except EPS12V/ATX12V
+12V2: The EPS12V/ATX12V cable
The CPU,ATX & GPU,SATA's use separate 12v rails and also check your pcie 6 pin cable has 3 yellow wires (mine has).

So just use a single 6pin to 8pin adapter and you are good to go, I think it will have the headroom for the extra juice needed.
and i would suggest avoiding molex & sata adapters. :wahoo:

I'm getting the 1060 6gb because some of the games I play are maxing out the vram and the 1060 3gb has a horrible cooler that is actually smaller than an intel cooler which gets really loud under full load. I can see why it didn't make any sense but it only cost me 20 dollars to switch so why not, but what psu/psu brand would you recommend?

The stated PSU is heavy on 3.3v and light on 12v. Especially when you consider the CPU uses it as well. You may get away with that adapter ... for a time. You will be powering the card with only two 12v wires. PCIe connectors have three 12v wires for a reason.
