I currently have DDR3 Ram and I do not want to buy new RAM. I am planning on buying a motherboard but it says DDR3L. I do not get the difference and I want to make sure they work before I buy it.
DDR3L is the same as DDR3 except rated to run a 1.35V rather than 1.5V. So yes, in theory it would work, but you risk damaging your CPU's memory controller by overvolting it like that. You should be able to undervolt your DDR3 to run at 1.35V (depending on what options your mobo gives you), but then there's a good chance it won't run at its rated frequency.
