Hi everyone , i currently have an Intel I3 7100 and old RAM sticks laying around (DDR3) wich i wanted to re-use.

Now i can't find any motherboard that is compatible with Kaby Lake and DDR3 memory. Can anyone suggest a new motherboard that would work with these 2 components?

Or do i have to buy new mobo and RAM memory?

Solution
Only H110/B150/Z170 mobo's (designed to work with 6th-gen Skylake out-of-the-box) have DDR3 support. All newer motherboards B250/H270/Z270 have DDR4 only (but can work with both 6th-gen and 7th-gen CPUs).

Since you have a 7th-gen Kaby Lake, you pretty much rule out getting an older motherboard due to BIOS update issues (unless you can find one that has an updated BIOS already or you would want to purchase a temporary Celeron G3900 just to updated the 6th-gen mobo's BIOS before plugging in the i3-7100). But even if you get the CPU to work, using the DDR3 RAM, which has a higher voltage than the DDR4, *might* be too risky to use (but it *might* still work -- though not recommended.) It's better to use DDR3L (low-voltage DDR3 RAM...
I would highly suggest getting a B250 motherboard and DDR4 RAM (than getting an H110 or B150 DDR3 motherboard that needs a BIOS update for your i3-7100 Kaby Lake CPU to work and risky higher voltage DDR3 RAM).

Yes but is there mobo that out of the box supports Kaby Lake and DDR3 RAM? If not i would probably need to buy new DDR4 memory also but it would be a waste because i have unused DDR3 laying around.

Thank you for the answer! I will take a look at it.

No, skylake only supported DDR4 and DDR3L, not DDR3. Kaby is DDR4 only out of the box.
