Well since my last 160GBS HDD died..
Hard drive disconnects randomly
I am very worried about losing my data.Now i have a Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB .

I was wondering :heink: if there was a software that would weekly check my HDDs and tell me if they are gonna die soon...Please tell me if such a thing exists.

Any help would be appriciated.

They will give you some errors message before your HDD or SSD failed completely. I never have a failed SSD, probably because I am lucky.

You could just run the normal Error-checking tool in Windows to see how healthy your drive is.
Right-click your drive and go to properties. Under "Tools" just press the "Check now..."-button in the Error-checking section.

Forget about any program - ANY PROGRAM - that's going to predict this or that HDD or SSD is "gonna die soon". There ain't no such program, capiche?

Your only realistic objective is to comprehensively backup your drive(s) from time-to-time so when that dreaded day will come - and it will come - you will have the means at hand to restore your system, i.e., your drive(s) to their previous functional state, capiche? Consider a disk-cloning program or some other backup strategy BUT BACKUP YOUR SYSTEM ON A REASONABLY ROUTINE BASIS.

Yes, you can use one of those many programs available on the net to determine the health of your drive(s) at any given time, BUT DON'T RELY ON THEM, capiche?

HD Sentinel, while it cannot predict when a HD will fail, it can give reports of SMART and other indicators pointing to a lessening of the quality of HD operations. Somebody PM me a cup of coffee, I think my brain needs a reKick.
