Faster RAM for gaming with 7700K?

Hi,
I am planning to upgrade my gaming PC because my Sapphire R9 390 Nitro died a couple of weeks ago. I want to buy Asus Strix GTX 1070 now, but because I have AMD FX-8320 I think I will have to buy a new CPU as well. I am very interested in Intel 7700K, but that means I must change the motherboard (MSI 970 Gaming) and RAM (Kingston 8GB 1866 MHz) as well.
A couple of months ago I watched a video on Youtube showing a massive difference once the Kabe Lake CPUs were paired with faster RAM, but I can't find it now.
How fast memory would you recommend me? I am quite serious gamer with three 1080p screens and I am planning to overclock the CPU (cooler: Corsair H100i) and GPU. But I also don't want to spend a fortune on the fastest memory possible.
Thank you very much for answers and have a nice day!

Faster ram can affect your minimum frame rates, some games more than others. A lot of people look at averages or maximums and think it makes not difference, there can be a 10 - 15 fps difference from DDR3 1333 to DDR3 2400 in some games that are CPU bound.

Also Single vs Dual channel can also affect FPS, Now not all games will care, but some will. BF4 and BF1 going from a 8GB single stick of ram to 2x 4GB sticks can give upwards of 20 more FPS for the mins and avg.

I recommend you get 2 sticks of ram, and at least 2400mhz DDR4 kit or better like what Mr CorsairSSC said. I'm not saying go out and get a 3000+mhz kit as the 7700k might not work with it, some chips will work just fine with 3000mhz some wont. Who knows what the next Gen...
Overwatch responds very positively to higher RAM speeds in high end rigs, this is the only title I know of offhand and it is due to the relative simplicity of the game. Other than that just get a good quality set that has good reviews, 16 gig or more as adding later can be hit or miss.

RAM speed doesn't affect performance much anymore, unless you are a hardcore content creator who wants nothing but the best. I suggest just a set of any DDR4-2400 2x8 GB pack. Remember to pick from high quality brands, but don't put in extra cash for unneeded features such as heatsinks or RGB modules.
