Hi all,

I'm looking for a PSU 500w or above, that has a straight through air flow. Typically PSU's take the air in from the side of the PSU and expel it via the rear of the PSU.

I am looking for a PSU that can take the air from what would be from the front (not the side) and out of the rear.

I was able to get hold of one like this one (Codegen 400w) but I can't get hold of them anymore.

Anyone know of a similar one that has a flow like this?

Thank you.

As stated by others PSU makers have changed from this design for a reason.
You should be addressing the real problem instead of trying to buy a low quality PSU with a poor design. Any PSU still using that old design and claiming over 500w is going to a be garabage can grade PSU that will fry your computer parts.

There you go, that is super cheap and we will see you back here in a few weeks/months when you say your PC wont boot anymore: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817339012

Whatever your cooling issues are, this is not the solution.

Any PSU with any ounce of quality is not going to be designed the way you want it, the cheap ones are designed that way becasue it is cheaper to use small fans. A power supply is the LAST part that you should go cheap on as it is the heart of your system and if low quality enough can completley fry the rest of your parts.

What case is this in? PSUs are designed to take air from top/bottom (not its side) and then push it out of the case. Only situation where it should be the side is if the case is a slm form factor case where the PSU can not fit the normal way and thus has to be turned on its side..

Ideally you want the PSU to be able to suck in air from below the case and expel it out the back without any of it spilling into the case at all. I've seen some people flip their PSU over and suck in hot air from the case instead thinking that this will help with cooling but in reality they are shortening the life of their PSU for very little thermal gain in the case.

The PSU you show in your picture looks to be super old and from the era of top mounted PSU setups in cases where a rear exhaust fan wasnt always there. That design is not as efficient as the modern bottom intake designs.
