Photoshop is not free and both GIMP and PS are difficult to use

Is there any free but simpler alternative to these two famous photo editing software?

Another recommendation for paint.net. https://www.getpaint.net/

I used to use Microsoft image composer. It came on a disc with Microsoft Frontpage. It was stupidly easy to use but it only worked up to Windows Vista. From 7 onward the colors were broken and it couldn't do more than 256. Paint.net is a workable alternative but nowhere near the ease of use as Image Composer was.

Depends on what you wish to accomplish. GIMP is difficult because it it a very capable application, there are thousands of online video guides on how to use GIMP so I would recommend it as a great option if you are willing to learn.

A easy free program that I use if I need to quickly edit pictures is Pixlr by Autodesk. You can find it here: https://pixlr.com/editor/

I couldn't do without my copy of Photoshop - - nothing comes near it for it's capabilities.

Bit of a steep learning curve at first, but well worth hanging in there, an excellent learning tool, and because it's the industry standard there are loads of helpful tutorials on the web.

I started off with Photoshop Elements (a cut-down version of Photoshop) until I could afford the "proper" one.
Elements helped me to get used to the interface and layout which is very similar to Photoshop.
Adobe still offers an Elements version at a very reasonable price:

And for me, its Paintshop Pro and Adobe Lightroom.

I've been using PSP since long before it was subsumed into the Corel world, back when actual Photoshop was waaaaay out of my price range.

I dallied with PSP a while back, heck I think I must have tried all the budget-priced image-editors at one time or another till I settled on the wallet-busting Photoshop (I probably paid for Photoshop twice over with all those other image-editors I bought over the previous years -).

I've got Lightroom too as I always shoot raw with my camera and Lightroom is more comprehensive than the raw editor in Photoshop.

I even tried Gimp long before Photoshop but I hated the interface. You needed a 40" screen to make room for all those damn default mini-windows which made the workspace too small! They've probably fixed that now though.

In fact, the only thing I need to do about graphics is -- creating simple logo which is usually made of rectangular shape or circular shapes only and putting some effect to text on top of it. As for the text effect, there is no specification and stocked effects are enough for me. However, Ms Paint will not do the work because I have OCD to make the logo and text align perfectly in the center or at the sides

In fact, is there any very easy , clear and neat video (or text) online tutorials for GIMP??

I really have no time studying lengthy manuals and theories. On the other hand, I have hard time reading and understanding too lengthy English text because its not my native languages

I recommend to use Photopea - www.Photopea.com . It may seem a bit complex, too, but since it works in a browser, you can open it at any time on any device and play around with it, to learn it faster :)
