Hello as i say today I buy 1080 MSI Gaming X my mobo is ASUS Rampage V Extreme\3.1 and it doen't fits so i plug out the backplate of the GPU and i place the GPU at the PCI X16 BUT when the pc was on i try to see if i can touch the backplate without the screws and a spark appears at the capacitors place.
Can you please tell me if i burn the capacitor or it just was a simple spark? My new GPU still working properly. If one GPU has one burned capacitor still works or not? Sorry for the silly question but I'm noob.
Thanks In Advance for your help !
Sincerely

Solution
You should be fine.
Simply put, if it works then it works. If you start up and can tell there's something wrong, such as computer bugging out, it's not a good sign.
In your case, I'm 99% certain that if it's a spark like you said, then it is simply because of built up electrons in your body, possibly from walking on a carpet, or rubbing on anything fabric. In other words, a static shock. A simple static shock will not hurt something unless you happen to shock the socket your CPU goes in, for instance. These days, according to my friend, hardware like a graphics card generally has a lot of protection from static regardless, you could slide the thing on the carpet directly without even affecting it.

Thank you for your answer, NO there is not any visable place at the back of the GPU who appeard burned , no color switch not nothing.
So now the GPU is working properly, but can you please tell me if one capacitor burns the GPU still works properly or not, is the only way to find if I make damage to the GPU. Thanks in Advance.

Not sure what you are asking, the video card works OK, so if anything happened to the card, it did not cause apparent and immediate damage to the card.

A bad capacitor will very likely cause the card not to work. It's not like they add in extra ones that don't do anything. If there is a bad one, there is something that will not work right, crashes, card not working as fast as it should, etc...

So you are telling me if the GPU works properly it was just a spark because i touch metal at the back of my card. Am I right? And there is no reason to worry about.

You are right I have no problem at all, exept someframedrops in games like The Division and Ghost Recon Wildlands form 60 FPS stady goes to 40 for for a while. This is related with the spark? Or it is just on the game managing power of the card? I have an I7 6800K so i don't think it is bottleneck. So in concusion if i make damage the card may don't works at all or works but very strange? Am I right?

Again, you should be fine. If you're playing on the highest settings then that FPS should be expected as far as I know. If you have a decent amount of RAM as well, that is fast, and a good motherboard, then maybe it is something different, but I'm not too familiar with the newer GPUs like 1080. Just don't worry about it too much. If you want you can try and figure out what other people got for their graphics cards in terms of FPS, specifically for those games at the highest settings, or medium, or low. If you're at low settings then there may be a problem, or it's simply something to do with some settings in your os maybe? Or something like that, but I'm willing to bet you're completely fine. As I said, a static shock generally won't hurt the gpu if all you did was touch the metal casing.

I know GTX 1080 is 1080p and 1920X1080 killer all stady to 60 fps as i know that is the reason I'm worring about because at maximum settings i have some random framedrops, i forgot tell you before the GTX 1080 i have SLI GTX 970 and again i have framedrops at the Division but theni have 3.9 teraflops X2 one gpu X16 and the second X8 becuse my CPU has 28 pci lanes game, but not at the ghost recon wildlands. In conclusion you are telling me is it the way the 1080 is managing the 9 teraflops in game and sometimes i have framedrops if the situration is serious then i may have framedrops in low settings ? Or random crashes, or very low performance, and stuff like that? am I right?
Thanks in Adnance.

Jesus dude, there may be a possibility something is wrong, or a possibility that you just aren't changing the settings on your computer to allow your rig to do more, but with stuff like your case is just beyond me.

I'm not too sure, but I think you have to have the same exact graphics card as the other one in order for SLI to work. I may be wrong but that's what I've heard.

So you are telling me these framedrops may be come form a burned capacitor?

Man, I already gave you my answer! You should be completely fine. If you somehow have all of those parts you mentioned in one huge computer, I'm astonished. I am not familiar with computers as most people answering would be.

I'm not sure if you're using a 4K monitor or not, but even multiple monitors running off the same PC will absorb some power from your rig.

I'm concerned about whether or not your SLI is working, in reality. You generally have to have the same exact card, so I don't think you are running SLI, actually. http://www.overclock.net/t/478578/faq-everything-you-need-to-know-about-sli-and-crossfirex

I'll say it once more - the spark shouldn't be an issue, and I don't think it harmed your gpu.

And I wanna clarify due to this being just words you read, that I'm not mad when I use an exclamation point, just kinda saying it amusedly.

thanks you all guys for your help with your answers, I don't have SLIbut I really want to (lol) but a GTX 970 dedicated to PhysX I hopel in the future make it 1080 SLi but the next year the second gen pascal realesed 2080 and 2070 with GDDR6 memory 60% quicker memory and 15-20% quicker GPU
