for gaming the pentium is around 20 or 25% faster
for video editing, should be a bit faster the x4, thanks to the real 4 cores
the cores are not that fast as the 2 cores on the pentium, but you have 4, so it should give you equal or better times

Do video editing tools use a lot of floating-point math? The AMD 860K has 4 *integer* units but only 2 *floating-point* units, so it might not be that much faster in heavy FP operations.
The Pentium G4560 should be *significantly* faster in games, and in future you can upgrade to a Core i CPU if you need to. There really isn't any upgrade path on the AMD 860K CPU, especially from a gaming perspective.

theoretically there will be some a10 cpus released later but with ryze, not sure
with the ryzen release the 1151 socket for the pentium could be also replaced so easy replace could be as hard for fm2+ socket
atm is cheaper on most countries to go with the fm2+
i just build a x4 860k, from the reviews, yes it is faster the pentium
but the intel was alot more expensive, especially ddr3 and mainboard locally, fm2 was alot cheaper and i could reuse my old ddr3 which lower even more the price
for that pentium you need a expensive b250, it is on some places cheap, locally on others very expensive, the cheapest mainboard for it is a asrick itx but is gen 6 firmware so you need to upgrade bios first, a pita for most, inpossible sometimes, no supported cpu means no bios update

Pentium is faster at every task. The x4 860k isn't really a powerful Quad-Core , and it's not always better to have 4 Cores than 2C/4Threads. The new Pentiums outperform a FX 8350 very easily and even a FX 6300 at Video/Photo editing. Get the Pentium cos it has the speed/upgrade path to i5/i7 . If you upgrade from this pentium don't get i3s , they are no sense right now/
