Ok gang, Asus came through for me and warrantied my video card, so I have a new 8gb 480 replacing my 280x. Now I have an older system, and not much money. I'm currently running a 1090t on an Asus Crosshair formula IV mobo. Is it worth bothering to switch out the processor to an fx8350? Apparently this is the last processor my motherboard can support. They have dropped in price the past week to 169, Canadian dollars, which work out to about 110 USD. I'm also only running 4gb of gskill ddr3 2000mhz, I could add more ram, but that's about it for budget at this time. Is any of this worth it? Thanks!

Oh, I wasn't necessarily recommending you get a G4560, just pointing out that the 8350 isn't really that cheap given the level of (gaming) performance it provides. It just seems like it's a cheap option because you already own the mobo and RAM, which is kind of a sunken costs fallacy. For the price of a 8350 + another 4 GB of DDR3, you can nearly get a G4560, mobo, and 8 GB of DDR4. Which would off comparable performance in most games while offering an excellent upgrade path (which the 8350 completely lacks). Again, not saying you should necessarily go with the G4560 though, just using it as an example.

Kinda what I figured, its just the 8350 is so cheap right now, however I don't know how much of a leap it is over the 1090t.....

The rest of my rig is decent, SSD, 1tb WD Black, and now the Rx480

Perhaps, but then that would involve upgrading my motherboard, and if that were the case I wouldn't be going with a g4560 either. I asked about the 8350 simply because it will plug right into the mobo and cooler I already have

Although not comparative to upgrading from a 1090T, I went from an X4 965 to the FX-8350. I also have 8GB RAM and an RX480 4GB.
It made a substantial difference in my heavily modded Skyrim (which can be CPU intensive at times). My peak framerate didn't go up drastically but the regular framerate troughs I was experiencing almost disappeared entirely.
