All web browsers and windows explorer crash and BSOD after installing new cpu fan and sink.

All web browsers(chrome, ie, ie x64, firefox), along with windows explorer, some random games crash constantly after installing a new cpu fan and heat sink. BSOD a few times also with mem management, page fault in non paged area. windows memory diag came back clean. Don't have a flash drive to try memtest86+. Tried deleting graphics drivers but cannot reinstall. Unsure of what is causing the crashes as installing a fan should not be relevant to anything else except the PSU. Voltages seem fine in BIOS as I thought it had to be a PSU issue first after i installed the fan. Reseated graphics card and RAM(and moved to slot 1/3 instead of 2/4 originally) with no results. Any suggestions?

EDIT: one of the BSOD page fault in nonpaged area showed CLFS.sys

specs:
win7 ultimate sp1 64 bit
8gb ddr3 corsair XMS
sandisk SSD
AMD fx 8120 3.1ghz
some asus MB
Sorry, unsure of many specifics as I lost the email with the specs.

is the memory.dmp file in c:/windows correct? if not where would I find them?

Try the RAM sticks individually, and check the cable connections particularly to your SSD in case you knocked them and they are not in properly.

Did you take the motherboard out of the case to install the new heatsink and fan or did you do it in place? haven't got any conductive heatsink paste on anything you shouldn't have or caused a short under the motherboard etc?

That might be an cause. I did take the motherboard out of the case, but it shouldn't be damaged (unless I didn't know it happened of course). I dropped a very small piece of the dried old thermal paste onto the MB but wiped it off. That might be the problem? I will go and purchase some rubbing alcohol to clean that area and give that a go.

edit: tried cleaning off the area, but no results, still crashing programs but havent bsod in a while. Starting to get issues installing programs and drivers. Tried to reinstall chrome and video drivers but it's giving me errors.
