I was working on a school project on my mac mini today when without warning my USB said it was disconnecting from my computer, then the project I was working on closed by itself and my USB did not show up in Finder. I checked the USB and it was still plugged in securely to my computer. I checked and I don't think it's a problem with the ports as I have a USB mouse and keyboard and they still worked on all the other port. I've also tried plugging my USB into a computer running with Linux, but it didn't connect there either. When I go to About This Mac --> System Report --> Hardware --> USB it shows:
2307 Boot ROM:
Product ID: 0x5500
Vendor ID: 0x13fe (Phison Electronics Corp.)
Version: 1.10
Speed: Up to 5 Gb/sec
Manufacturer: Phison
Location ID: 0x14900000 / 9
Current Available (mA): 900
Current Required (mA): 96
Extra Operating Current (mA): 0
and that's only when this USB is connected so I'm sure it's the USB.
The USB is a Kingston 32gb Data Traveler G4
And my mac is running Sierra version 10.12.3
Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris 1536 MB
Is there any way to get my USB working and connecting to my computer again?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
