Hi. I have been pc gaming for about a year now, i havent actually ever upgraded or built a PC. I usually like to play steam games like Rust, CSGO, Dayz, Tom Clancys Rainbow six seige, PLAYERUNKOWN BATTLEGROUNDS, etc. I am unaware if i should upgrade my cpu or gpu, because in dayz and rust i get 25-30 fps which kills me.( idk if theyre cpu or gpu intensive)
FOR MY CPU IM CURRENTLY USING A Intel Pentium G3240 @ 3.1Ghz.(considering upgrading to a g4560
FOR MY GPU IM CURRENTLY USING A R7 250 2GB (considering upgrading to a gtx 1060 3gb
I HAVE 8gb of ram.
My budget is $300, please help!
Also, would a g3240 or a g4560 bottleneck a gtx 1060 3gb?

Solution
I'd choose 8 GB if you have the chance. Note that an RX 470 has only 12-15% performance decreases over a 480, but the extra VRAM will likely help in the future if games keep growing GPU wise. Right now 4 GB is the recommended, but some games ran on maxed need even more, and VR will probably benefit from more though you shouldn't quote me on that.

Thanks alot, should i upgrade the CPU too? Im scared that something will get bottlenecked because i dont know alot about this stuff. I just want straight forward performance for the lowest price possible lol. Im still open to any other suggestions.

I have done some research, and i have closed in on the rx 470, and the rx 480. I can afford both but i dont know which one to choose because the rx 470 is an Asus STRIX version with 8gb GDDR5 Video memory, and the rx 480 is an Asus dual fan version with 4gb of GDDR5 Video memory. Im really stuck because i want to buy the 470 because of the video memory, but im afraid it wont last another 2-4 years. And if i buy the 480, with only 4gb, it might not be able to run games in 2-4 years. Please help, again lol.
