Hello, system in my sig. I am currently using a corsair HX650w power supply, from an older build. (2011) It's been working well as far as I know, I haven't had any known problems with stability. However I am running this rig with moderate/heavy overclocks on my ram, cpu and gpu. My question is, should I upgrade my psu and why? If so, what are your recommendations?

I appreciate any feedback, thanks.

I would keep using it for the folowing reasons.

1) its a really quality product.
2) it has got a seven year warranty.
3) THE MTBF IS 100,000 hours
4) under normal use it would break and if in the rarest case if it it , only the psu would break down. not the rest of your components

I would ONLY replace it if you want to do extreme ocing.

I disagree, 6 years...

That being said, its up to you, if you have the money i would invest, a power supply is like a good case, as you very well know, it will be with you for many years and many builds, i am yet to have one last as long as yours has.

Part of the reason I'm asking this is because I don't want it failing in the near future. Are there any benefits to upgrading the psu?

If your concerned with it failing in the near future due to your overclocks and you have the budget to get a new high quality unit then go for it. For me though it depends on the warranty and I would only consider replacing it once the warranty expires and there are a few units out there that are covered for 7-10 years.
