After about 5+ years of use, my WD Black 1TB died yesterday, and I was looking for a replacement and ended up going with this :
Western Digital 2TB 3.5-Inch SATA 7200 RPM 64MB, Black
WD2003FZEX
I got it in today, plugged it in (eventually in several drive slots) and it only shows up on boot as a listed drive, but not in My Computer on actual start. I tried moving some of my drives around to see if that was an issue, but each slot works correctly.
I imagine I'm using SATA 1 cables if that makes a difference
I'm wondering if this HDD is incompatible with my mobo or what else might be the problem.
