Hey guys,

I know that travel PC builds have been brought up on Toms before. My question is slightly more specific. I want to take advantage of AMD's APU chips that have the built in GPU ,and save space on not having to shove a dedicated GPU into a case. What would be a good PC case for a mini ITX AMD APU build that is small as possible? I've searched myself for "smallest ITX cases" but I get many results that require PICO power supplies and I don't have very much experience with PICO power supplies. If someone does know of a great small case that does require a PICO power supply please recommend a PICO powersupply for a 95watt APU. Thank yall for your time.

You may want to look at the NFC System's S4 mini but I think they're already past the pre order stage and into production though it's worth contacting Joshua Sniffen and see if something can be arranged. On that note, mind sharing what sort of parts you've already sourced? You shou;ldn't be looking at Pico PSU's in this day and age especially since HDPLex just released their Nano 300W PSU which means you can stuff more powerful hardware within an mitx chassis/smaller footprint.

What sort of cases have you seen so far? Perhaps shoot us a budget as well for an entire build?

Hey Lucky,

Thank you for your help. Your list looks good, i'm just headed towards the AMD APU build so I can get the graphics in the smallest available option. I know APU's are nothing compared to a dedicated GPU ,but with games like League of Legends and World of Warships im not too concerned about it. Thank you again :)

Unfortunately the S4 mini doesn't accept coolers that are of the height of the Wraith which means you're going to have to look for an aftermarket cooler. I wouldn't suggest a Fractal Node 202 since you're dealing with only the iGPU and aren't going to need to drop in a dedicated GPU anytime soon.

In fact if all you're going to do is run off the iGPU on the APU, why not look at the Inwin BP655 which comes with a 300W PSU and is more than ample for running that entire parts list. Mind you, you will need to buy an aftermarket cooler like the Be Queit! Shadow Rock LP or even teh older coolers that came with higher end APU's like the A10-7850K.

I have the Inwin BP659 which has the 200W PSU and it's running my A10-6800K with an undervolt, quite happily for over a year.

Thank you that case information! The Inwin BP655 looks really good for what I need, but I'm going to go out on a limb and ask if there is a case like that but without the CD/DVD bay? If not that's ok but I figured i'd ask. I wish they had a case like the S4 Mini but without the GPU area. I checked out the HDPlex nano PSU and those look pretty great as well.Thank you again for your time and help so far.
