I'm planning on building a [strike]cpu[/strike] PC this weekend and because of budget limitation, I'm thinking on buying x2 4GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 instead of a x2 8GB (which is my original plan). I still plan on buying another x2 4Gb (same corsair) next month so i can have a 16gb memory.

I read that having RAM that came from different batches affects the memory speed. I need your opinion on this.

Should i buy the x2 4gb and add another x2 4gb later on? I'm just worried about stocks running out thats why i'm thinking on buying the x2 4gb.

Thanks.

If you must buy ram later on, it's best that you buy a kit, like a 4x4GB kit to have all your slots populate. There are instances where a different batch of ram although identical in every shape, manner and form except for their barcode have left some system's with minor issues. If the purchase date for the next 2x4Gb kit is a month off, then why not buy two 2x4Gb kits and then produce an advance at the shop(if you're buying physically) so they hold onto the same batched ram kit...?

If not, then buy a 2x4Gb kit now and when you want to max out, buy a 4x4GB kit and sell the existing kit.

Mind sharing your full system's specs, just in case?

I think i can still get a x2 8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX if I remove the cpu cooler on my budget. I'll just get it later, and use a stock one from intel. This is my first time building a cpu so, I'm not really confident on installing an aftermarket cooler once the other components are installed.

My plan build
CPU: Intel Core i5-7600 3.5GHz Quad-Core
Motherboard: MSI B250M MORTAR Micro ATX LGA1151
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5"
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card: MSI GTX 1060 6GB GAMING X
Case: Deepcool DUKASE V2 ATX Mid Tower
Power Supply: SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular
