Hi. I've just got an MSI Z97 Gaming 5 off ebay that the buyer said was new (it still had the plastic thing over the CPU socket). I use an Intel Core i5 4690K.
When I tried starting the computer, everything starts but there's nothing showing on the monitor.
I have tried plugging the monitor into the motherboard's HDMI and into the graphics card's HDMI and the same result.
I have also tried turning the computer on only with the CPU, motherboard and CPU cooler plugged in, and still the same results.
The debug LED at the bottom of the motherboard shows the code 00. After looking online, that is actually supposed to represent code D0, which the manual says is a Late CPU Initialization. Other people online had the same problem, and some of them said that it could be a BIOS incompatibility, or the CPU is dead.
I don't have another CPU or motherboard. Do you think the problem might be the CPU that is dead, the motherboard that is dead or just a BIOS version that is outdated?
