Hi guys,

I have bought both
1. Intel i7 7700 Kabylake CPU (not 7700K)
2. Intel SSD 750 Series 400GB (PCI-E ssd driver)

Now I need your help for choosing the compatible motherboard both for the CPU and for SSD driver.

INTEL suggest to use X99 Z97 chipset. However, I am not sure Intel i7 7700 Kabylake is supported by this chipset.
Moreover, the motherboard has to support UEFI 2.3.1 for being able to boot from this drive.
Just to be clear, I want to install my OS on the Intel SSD 750 Series drive.

Do you familiar with any motherboards I can use?

Thanks in advance!
Daniel.

Solution
The link is old, that is why it lists only x99 and z97 chipsets (note listed OS - no Win 10, so the link content is at least 2 years old).
i5-7700 is not compatible with x99 and z97 as they use different CPU socket (7700 uses socket 1151). That is why you need something based on 2xx or 1xx chipset. Since 2xx are newest boards, most of them (but not all I think) accept NVMe drives as boot drives. Obviously you need to check if any given model will work with your SSD without any problems once you narrow your choices. Motherboard manufacturer customer support is best place to ask, as online specifications are not detailed enough to provide answers to such specific questions.

Thanks DRagor,

Have you tried to build a computer based on one of those motherboards you have suggested with Intel SSD 750 Series inside?
Does it work fine?

I want to be sure the motherboards you have mentioned are compatible. Beacuse in intel's website (link below) it's written that
Basic requirements to use as a bootable drive, you need:
A system based on an Intel® Z97 Chipset or an Intel® X99 Chipset
Can you please base your answer? or explain me more?

Thanks again.
Daniel
