My friend has a weaker PC, yet he keeps performance in most games better than me, WHY?

Hi, not long ago i purchased I decent PC for £500. Here are the specs:

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-4300 quad core processor 3.80ghz (am3+) (Overclocked through to 4.51 ghz)
RAM: 16gbs (DDR3) (1600mhz)
System type: 64 bit
OS: Windows 10 pro
GPU: Nividia Geforce GT 710 (GDDR 3) (2gb version, I think!) (overclocked CORE: +375
MEM:+400)
Direct X: 12
Mobo: GA-78LMT-USB3 6.0 (gigabyte)
(tell me if I missed anything?)

My freind: (PC from some dodgy ebay website for 99 pounds- ?????)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(tm) i5 cpu 750@ 2.67 ghz (locked i think)
RAM: 8gbs (ddr3) (1600mhz)
System type: 64 bit
OS: Windows 10 home
GPU: AMD radeon HD 5700 series (1gb)
Direct x: 12
Mobo: P7H55-M SI
(again if i missed anything just tell me :D)

Solution
a virtual core is when the CPU sections off part of its physical core to handle more tasks. so you have 2 physical cores and your CPU sections off 1 part per core
