Goal: To get a PC that can play games in 4k with max or near max and last about 5-7 years.

This is my first time building a PC and this is what i have compiled so far:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6tLtqk

My main questions are:

Will this all work together?

Any recommendations on anything cheaper/better?( was aiming for something around 1500$, this went a little overboard)

Do i need more cooling?

I wasn't really sure what i should get for a motherboard, with my current build i use about 4 usb slots.

Solution
Everything you will ever need is listed below. You can do without the optical drive but since you had it in your first I picked one anyway.
It's $1999 so we're keeping this below budget ;)

Its my first time building a PC D: i'm not sure what all the numbers mean yet.

What should i aim for in a hard drive? i was just looking at 4TB for space, then was thinking about putting the OS on the SSD.

Thanks, I will switch this to 2x8GB, i think the 4x4 was a bit cheaper when i was looking earlier, but not by much.

Well was aiming for like the 1500-2000$ range, a bit over 2000$ would be ok also.

If it was cheaper, then you can keep it, it will work too. Just it limits your options to increase amount of memory later, so it's usually better to start with only 2 sticks. But then 16 Gb *should* be good for few years so it may not be an issue.
As for HDD, you want 7200 RPM.

All that you should look for in a hard drive is the storage capacity (duh) and that it has 7200 RPM. There are drives with 10000 RPM but those aren't convenient for day to day use.

Your build is compatible, but, I think you can do better.

1. Love the cpu. If you overclock, here is what you might expect:
As of 1/13/17
What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.4v Vcore.

I7-7700K
4.9 74%
5.0 56%
5.1 26%
5.2 5%

2. Hyper212 is merely ok, but can be hard to install.
I would spend a bit more for one of the newly redesigned noctua s suffix coolers:
NH-U12s
NH-U14s
NH-D15s.
Any will do. The s veriants have been redesigned to clear ram with tall heat spreaders and graphics cards with backplates mounted in the first pcie x16 slot.

3. Kaby lake ram is dual channel only. There is no advantage in a 4 stick kit. Buy a 2 x 8gb kit it will be cheaper because it is easier to match 2 sticks vs. 4. DDR4-3000 speed is fine.
If you ever want 32gb, buy that up front. No ram vendor supports disparate kits.
Fancy heat spreaders just add cost and are mostly marketing, no need for that. I like the corsair LPX ram also.

4. Intel 730 series might be my second choice after Samsung 850 evo for a 2.5" ssd.
Your motherboard supports m.e pcie devices which are some 4x faster in sequential operations.
I might suggest the Samsung 960 evo m.2 device which is actually cheaper:

5. For bulk sequential storage, 5900 rpm is ok. I think I like the WD green/blue offerings better from a reliability point of view.

6. Love the GTX1080ti founders card. Just got one. I like the direct exhaust to the rear. So far, I can not hear mine at all in limited testing.

Your psu is excellent quality and is even strong enough for sli GTX1080ti.
But... I would hope to not have to exercise that option.
Some games do not support dual cards, and you will be more subject to stuttering and screen tering.
We have not yet seen the end of great performing single gpu cards.

7.

Lastly some tips:
buy yourself a magnetic tip #2 Philips head screwdriver for assembly.

While waiting for parts to ship, download and read, cover to cover, the case and motherboard manuals.
