PC does not turn on after attempting to install a PCI sound card. Removing the card does not help.

My specs:
-ASUS Maximus VII Formula
-Intel Core i7-4790K
-2x MSI R9 290X Lightning in CrossFire
-Corsair RM1000
-Samsung 840 EVO 256 GB as system drive
-2x Samsung 840 EVO 1TB as storage drives

So I think that first I have to write about something that has always been bugging me with my PC: every time I turned it on by pressing the button on the case, the lights and fans would turn on for about 3 seconds, then they would turn back off for about two seconds and then they would turn on again and the PC would start normally. Also, every time after the PC received no power for some time, while turning it on it would tell me that I need to enter BIOS to recover BIOS settings. I read that this second issue is probably due to a dead motherboard battery, but I did not find anyone write about the first one.

Okay, now on to what happened today. I tried installing the ASUS Xonar STX II 7.1 sound card. Because of some PCI slots being taken up by the graphics cards and others being obstructed by my watercooling tubing, I could only install the sound card by placing the main card in the lowermost PCI slot and the daughter card in the topmost PCI slot (picture of my motherboard: https://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2014/08/asus-maximus-vii-formula-review/maximus-vii-formula-1-1280x1024.jpg). The connecting cable was barely long enough to connect the two, but the connectors were definitely pressed in fully. In the cable compartment I happened to have a cable with four 4-pin Molex connectors one after another. The one closest to the PSU was already being used for the D5 pump. I dragged this cable out through one of the rubber grommets and connected the connector furthest from the PSU to the sound card.

Then I powered up the PC and tried turning it on. The lights and fans turned on for literally half a second, then turned off for about two seconds and then turned back on, but the monitor did not pick any signal. I turned the PC off and on again. Then the lights and fans did not turn off for those two seconds - once they turned on, they stayed, but still there was no signal to the monitor. I tried disconnecting the power from the PC and then connecting it back and did everything again and everything repeated; on first try, the lights and fans turned on for half a second, turned off for two seconds and then on for good but there was no signal. On second try, they turned on for good straight away but still the monitor had no signal. I took out the sound card and repeated everything, with exactly the same effects. The PC does not turn on and currently I'm writing this from my laptop.

Every time I tried to turn on the PC after installing the sound card, the digit display on the motherboard was showing "00", the logo display was glowing continuously without the breathing effect and a red light was glowing to the bottom right of the 24pin power socket.

What should I do to fix this?

Solution
Re-seat all the connectors and components that you may have nudged while moving things inside the case... GPU, GPU power cable(s), display cables, ATX power cable, ATX12V cable, DIMMs, etc.

Thank You good Sir! When I was installing the sound card I had to remove one of the RAM sticks for a moment because otherwise I couldn't get my hand in one place and I couldn't insert the card. Now when I removed that RAM stick and inserted it again, it made a click sound while inserting that it did not make the first time. This must have been the issue. Now everything's working again. :D
