The designation "PC3-10600" usually means it is standard unbuffered memory. The designation "PC3-10600U" means that the memory is standard unbuffered memory.
So, in theory, one memory module labelled as PC3-10600 should work with another memory module lablled as PC3-10600U because they are both standard memory.
However, in order for the modules to work together compatibility, their characteristics have to be similar. The characteristics referred to are separate from memory voltage, timings, and frequency.
Ideally the two modules should have the same voltage, timings and frequency in addition to having similar characteristics.
So when trying to match and run two separate memory modules, be prepared to try several different modules until a compatible combination is found.
Ideally, getting a dual channel memory kit instead would be the better choice as the modules are guaranteed to be compatible to begin with, so saving time and money.
