I am looking to upgrade my GPU and found a card locally on Craigslist. Guy recently upgraded his and is selling his old card.

I know the GTX 960 is much better than my old card, but is there a newer card under $150 that'd be a better investment or should I buy this card? Using it to play Fallout 4, Witcher 3, BF1.

If only we knew of your current GPU's make and model as well as your full system's specs, we'd have been able to suggest if it was a worth while "upgrade". Please list your specs as:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

Dell XPS 420, 6 GB ram, 2.4 quad core processor, upgraded PSU (500w+ not exactly sure I can check later), Radeon hd 6770, 1080p resolution, windows 7.

Let's just say I barely get 20-25 FPS on FA4 in urban areas on my current build, with the lowest settings/resolution possible, edited INIs, and performance/texture mods. Interior areas are silky but when I walk outside, its over with if there's any enemies waiting. I know my card is outdated and I'm upgrading my HDD to a faster speed soon as well.

Paladin, sorry didn't mean to vote down on your answer and I can't undo it. Any advantages to getting the 1050sc instead? I see it's smaller. That shouldn't effect the power, but I feel like larger cards run cooler. But I'm shooting in the dark with that assumption. Just why I didn't pick a smaller card.

If you're at the lowest settings and your fps still sucks then its your cpu holding you back, not your gpu. A quick look on YouTube suggests that the hd6770 should be fine for 720p / medium on fa4, maybe even 900p.

A new cpu wont come cheap though as you will basically need a whole new pc to go with it, motherboard ram case and if that dell psu isnt atx size a new psu too

the thing is the 960 is about the same as a 1050TI in performance,
but after looking at PassMark scorse, I realize the 1050 (non ti ) was much lower scored @ 4,701 to the GTX 960 5,834, maybe my suggestion wasn't all that great.

but for 155$ you can have a GTX 970 4GB and that is almost same score as a 1060 3gb and a touch lower than a 1060 6GB

I just found a 970 4g for 130 plus shipping.

Any opinions on if it's worth 50 dollars more than the 960 2gb and will it fit in the Dell XPS 420?

Last one. Narrowed it down to 2 cards.

XFX Radeon GTR RX 480 8gb for $209 with Doom free

or
MSI Radeon RX 470 8gb for $169?

I'm leaning towards the RX 480 for 50 more bucks, plus a free game.
