Your primary limitation can come from your BIOS, as in, if there is a lack of support from it then the new processor will not allow your laptop to boot. The secondary limitation can come about from the slight difference in the socket:
PPGA478
PBGA479, PPGA478

It's hard to say which PPGA version your Celeron is at the moment.

But this may be worth further reading as well as this.
